Cleora Akervik Obituary
Formerly of Sartell
Sept. 9, 1922~March 8, 2011
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 17th at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Cleora H. Akervik, age 88, formerly of Sartell, who died on March 8th in Aurora, Colorado, as a result of a stroke suffered in 1997. Rev. Lauren Germann will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud. Friends may call on Wednesday between 4:00-8:00 PM at the Daniel Funeral Home in ST. CLOUD, and one hour prior to services at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 PM.
Cleora was born September 9th, 1922 in Sartell to Thomas and Mary (Feeley) Handeland. She married Merle Akervik on June 10th, 1939 in St. Cloud. She lived in Sartell most of her married life, and moved to Colorado about 12 years ago. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell.
Survivors include children, James Akervik (Arlys) St. Cloud, Carol Adams (Ted) Rochester, Jill Ayler, Aurora, CO, Julie Aragon, (Lou) Aurora, CO, and Janet Salyer, Fargo ND, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merle, May 10th, 2001, and son Gary.
Memorials are preferred to St. Michaels Nursing Home Volunteers, 19099-East Floyd Ave. Aurora, CO, 80013.

Dear Jim, Carol, Jill, Julie and Janet, I am so sorry for your loss of your mother. There are few people in this world that can leave a life long impression on someone and your parents were those type of people. There was very few days that I hadn't thought about your mom and wonder how she was doing. If there is any kind of brightness to this, at least she isn't suffering anymore. And I will miss her deeply.
