David Neron Obituary

David J. Neron, 77

Sauk Rapids

July 12, 1937 - May 15, 2015

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for David J. Neron, age 77, who passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman and Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4PM to 8PM Tuesday, June 2 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

David was born July 12, 1937 in St. Cloud, MN to Joseph & Mary (Langendorf) Neron. He married Charlotte Esselman on June 4, 1966 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. He had lived in the Sauk Rapids area most of his life. Passions in life were art, teaching, his faith, riding motorcycle and his family. He taught many years around central Minnesota. He found his true calling and niche at Sts. Peter, Paul and Michael Middle School in St. Cloud where he taught for 25 years. Art was always a big part of David's life since childhood. He used his artistic ability throughout grade school and high school and graduated from SCSU, studying Art, History and Education. He is known for his unique painting style and scenes that include Minne- sota landscapes and wildflowers. He owned and operated an art gallery with his wife in Sauk Rapids where he continued his passion and sharing his work with others. David was a true family man and was a wonderful mentor in his role as husband, father, grandfather, friend and teacher. He touched many lives and will be truly missed. David was always generous and selfless and his final wish reflects how he lived his life. David has donated his body to the University of Minne- sota medical program. Through this gesture he will continue to teach and contribute even after his passing.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Colette (Robert) Neron Ellenbecker and Nichole Neron Kloss; granddaughters, Lindsay and Kelsay; nieces, Nan, Diane and Beverly; and sister-in-law, Ruth Neron Heipley. David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sherman; sister, Mary Jo Warren and brother-in-law, Ray Warren.

Special thanks to staff at Good Shepherd ACE unit and St. Cloud Hospital for their compassionate care over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Poor Clare Monastery, Cathedral High School or Tri- County Humane Society.

I purchased one of his paintings back when my kids were at SPPM. Still have it displayed in our home. He was a great teacher. Rest in Peace Dave.
