Dorothy Adelman Obituary
North Kingstown, RI,. Formally of St. Cloud, MN - Dorothy Frances Adelman, age 90, passed away on March 30, 2018. She was born in St. Cloud on Sept. 27, 1927 and graduated from St. Cloud Tech HS in 1945. She married and raised 6 children in CA. She was full of life, loved to travel and meet people. After becoming a nurse with an AA degree at age 40, she went on to receive a bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Cloud University at age 70. Her love of travel and compassion for people inspired her to volunteer in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and at the Good Shepherd Home in Thailand. For many years she volunteered at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, CA. She also enjoyed fun jobs working at Disneyland and Glacier NP in Montana. One of her greatest loves was sharing time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Carmel Fleck (David), Dana Altland (Andrew), Jeff Widmann (Thom), Jamie Horn (Gary), Beth Mohan (Jerry), Jackie Romeo (Jeff) and her grandchildren, Sean, Marina, Haley (Thomas), Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Chris, Emily, and Ella, and a great grand daughter, Everly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be in Friday, April 13, 2018 from 5 to 7PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Duelm, MN.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Sisters of the Good Shepherd, 7654 Natural Bridge Road, St. Louis, MO 63121-4989, ATTN: Sister Mary Carolyn (designate to USA or Thailand).
