Terri and family-- I am so sorry for your loss. Words are so inadequate at this time. I have so many wonderful memories of both of you. You were a great friend, especially in Jr high. Dwight made Jr. Class play rehearsals sunshine fun. His favorite line was to tell people that his mom had an affair with the milkman! I also remember how happy the two of you were together at a class reunion when you had found one another again. Hold on to those wonderful memories and trust that Dwight is now at peace. You will be reunited once more, We were just reminded of that on Easter.

I will miss seeing Dwight around town and having him wave to me every time we met on the street. Dwight always had a smile on his face, I will miss that! Dwight was a good guy...sorrily missed.

I met Dwight when I moved to Milaca in 4th grade. We grew up together at First Baptist. He was the catcher on the greatest team I ever played on (7th Grade Alliance/Baptist softball). The few times I ran into him after we graduated, he picked up right where we left off. Dwight loved people, and it showed. Since hearing the news on Tuesday, my heart has been heavy. I can't comprehend the anguish of those who had Dwight in their daily lives -- Terri, his children and grandchildren, Jerry and Nancy, his siblings, his friends. Someone has said that a life in measured, not in duration, but in donation. Though he left far earlier than anyone could hope, I am confident in the weeks and months ahead, the craftsmanship of this loyal, loving, sensitive man on your lives will be unmistakable. Once again, Dwight left a place better than he found it. This weekend and in the days ahead, my prayer for you all will be the prayer of David in Psalm 16: "I have set the Lord, always before me, for He is at my right hand. I will not be shaken."

Dwight came into my life in 4th grade when I moved to Milaca. We grew up together at First Baptist Church. He played catcher on the greatest team I ever played on (7th grade Alliance/Baptist slowpitch ). Since we graduated in 1978, I have only run into him a few times when visiting, but each time Dwight picked up where we left off. Dwight was gifted in so many ways. But most of all, he was the guy you moved toward in a room -- a listener, loyal, a person who cared about people. When I measure the level of hurt in my own heart this week at the news of Dwight's death, I can only imagine the anguish of those of you who had Dwight in your life through the course of his life, of Jerry and Nancy, of his brothers and sisters, of his children and grandchildren, and most of all of his soul-mate, Terry. I thought this morning of these words, "Life is not measured in duration, but in donation." Dwight has left a deep mark in so many. Dwight's calling was to leave a place in better shape than he found it. I believe over time all who knew Dwight will see that while he clocked off the job earlier than we would have ever hoped, the craftsmanship he left behind in lives is rich and lasting and precious. To the family and extended family, may the words of Psalm 16 be vividly experienced in the days and the journey ahead: "May you set the Lord always before you, because He is at your right hand. May you not be shaken."

Terri and all the family,
May the Peace that passes understanding be with you all. Dwight made a special effort to welcome us when we would come 'home' for a visit, making both my husband and me feel welcomed after so many years away. He truly was a blessing to those who knew him.
So sorry for your loss. (Jeremiah 29:11...where we lack understanding, God knows the beginning and the end)

I grieve for your loss and words seem so inadequate as you face life without Dwight. To lose a child, no matter the age, or the illness, is beyond comprehension-so I feel that any word must seem so lacking when compared with your grief. May God bless you and lift you above your sorrow as you focus on His words, and the love of others to carry you into the next days and years.

May God bless you all as you face life without Dwight. I am so sorry for the loss of this multi -talented man and most certainly for his contributions to all who loved him and to his friends who saw the value of who he was and the battles he faced. He has helped many in his thoughtfulness and his determination to do as much as he could for as long as he could. My prayers are with you all
