Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Elmer C. Arnold, age 89, of Eden Valley, who died Monday at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Rev. Virgil Braun will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday (Today) at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley. Eden Valley Legion Post 381 will pray at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Eden Valley.
Elmer was born September 1, 1922 in Eden Valley to George and Mary (Binsfield) Arnold. He worked at Honeywell for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Elmer enjoyed fishing and served his country in the United States Army. He lived in Eden Valley most all of his life and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Eden Valley American Legion Post 381.
Survivors include his sisters, Luella Simon of Mounds View, Adeline DeMorett of Eden Valley, Dorothy (James) Tintes of Burnsville, Aurelia Christle of Eden Valley; brother, George of Fridley; brother-in-law, Roman Utecht of Crystal; and sister-in-law, Myra Arnold of Eden Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sidonia Altobell, Frances Utecht and Josephine McCarney; brothers, Raymond, Leander, Isadore and Gilbert Arnold.
