Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Helen R. Pitschka, age 96, who passed away Wednesday at New London Health Center in Snellville, GA. Rev. Jerry Dalseth will officiate and burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Helen was born August 24, 1917 in Royalton to Stanley & Anna (Fussy) Novitzki. She married Robert Pitschka on May 4, 1943 in Sauk Rapids. Helen was a homemaker and also a cook for Sacred Heart School for 14 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Women and Resurrection Choir, and served on the parish council. She volunteered for RSVP for 10 years at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Helen enjoyed volunteering and playing cards.
Survivors include her daughters, Myrna Pfau of St. Cloud, Janice (David) Strasser of Cape Coral, FL, and Roberta (Larry) Dodson of Snellville, GA; sister, Sophie Harris of Sacramento, CA; sisters-in-law, Ruth Novitzki of Farmington, Alma Novitzki of Sauk Rapids, and Lorraine Novitzki of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on July 28, 2000; sisters, Theresa Novitzki and Mary Bade; and brothers, Tom, Joe, Pete, Jack, Mike, Math, Leonard, and Lawrence "Bud" Novitzki.
Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Crossroads Hospice.
