Hello Mark and family,
I had recently asked about Jim around this time last year. After looking back n the paper for information on someone else's services, my heart broke when I came across Jim's obituary. I just wasn't expecting it. Surely, he was the guy who would live forever!
He had a charm, wit, and special demeanor about him that is unmatched by others. His keen and sharp ability as an officer came second to none. I enjoyed seeing him regularly and looked forward to our casual witty banter. It was extra nice, when he would stop by with a dozen roses to brighten my office! I'm confident it made other nurses jealous that they did not have a patient as cool as Jim! :) He was always thinking of others!
I had the great fortune of being his nurse for a doctor he saw for many years. It was a pleasure to treat, care for, and enjoy him during that time.
I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a bright soul that could light up a thousand rooms with his commanding presence. I will remember him fondly, always, and likely every time I see a perfect bouquet of roses!

I recently met a gentleman who is on the St Cloud Police Dept. Whenever I have the opportunity to meet one, my mind immediately turns to Jim. After we shared a laugh for a bit over the unique encounter we had, my thoughts stayed with Jim as it has been a very long time since I've spoken to him, but I do find myself smiling about the time I was able to spend with him as a member of his medical care team years ago, and unquestionably he has always been one of my favorite patients... Ever. I laughed with my daughter that day (whom is a classmate of his grandson Eric) and we recalled fondly how I would come home with beautiful bouquets of flowers frequently that Jim would bring to me at my office. He was always a charmer like that, and knew how to make people smile!
It was just today, at another chance encounter, that I learned of Jim's passing. I'm saddened to know that I missed the news of this and was therefor unable to attend his services.
Please know that my, as well as my families, thoughts are with you and yours and may your grief be comforted knowing he no longer suffers.
What a wonderful bright light he was in so many lives.... I'm honored to have known him.
