November 17, 1954 - July 1, 2014
Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at The Salvation Army Chapel, 400 Hwy 10 S., St. Cloud for Janice I. Henning, age 59, who passed away Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Major Alan Fones and Major Lee Morrison will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:30 p.m. Monday at The Salvation Army Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
Janice was born Nov. 17, 1954 in St. Cloud to Albert & Dorothy (Roden) Springer. She married Stephen Henning on Nov. 3, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. Janice was the Office Manager at The Salvation Army for 20 years. She was a member of The Salvation Army for over 20 years where she was very active and held several church leadership positions. Janice enjoyed reading, gardening, word games, puzzles, quilting, baking, spending time with family, and HGTV. She had a very strong faith and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.
Survivors include her son and daughters, Douglas (Melissa) of Sauk Rapids, Kristin, Tina, Lisa, and Sara all of St. Cloud; mother, Dorothy Springer of Sauk Rapids; brother and sisters, Thomas (Pati) Springer of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (John) Roering of Sauk Rapids, Patricia (Michael) Maiers of Lakeville, and Susan (David) Counter of St. Cloud. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Albert Springer on March 28, 2010; husband, Stephen Henning on Feb. 4, 2014; and infant siblings, Betty Lou and John.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the St. Cloud Hospital, especially ICU and Oncology.

I am heartbroken over losing Janice this way...she was my double-cousin, so always there at all family functions; just a couple weeks younger than me; my mom Irene was her baptismal sponsor...so many ties now lost to us here. To Dorothy and all of Jan's kids, my deepest sympathy. I hope we can all find comfort in thinking of Janice now reunited with Steve, her dad Albert, and godmother Irene.

I have been on the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army for several years. It has been an honor to befriend such a beautiful, caring person. Jan will surely be missed but her spirit and passion will remain with us all. The prayers of mine and my family's go out to the Henning family as their loved one becomes a special angel to God.
