Jan. 10, 1965 - Nov. 14, 2017

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Paynesville Evangelical Free Church in Paynesville for Jonathan "Jon" M. Lang, age 52, who passed away Tuesday at the Monticello Hospital in Monticello. Rev. Patrick Drury will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in Paynesville. There will be a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Becker.

Jonathan Mark Lang was born January 10, 1965 in Paynesville to Llewellyn & Adeline (Rud) Lang. He married Barb Cox on May 29, 1988 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They lived in Paynesville prior to moving to Becker in 1996. Jon worked as a heavy equipment operator for Caterpillar for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Becker Evangelical Free Church where he was involved in Bible Study Fellowship, Worship Team and the Men's Group for 20 years. He was a former member of the Paynesville Evangelical Free Church. Jon was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball cards, sports, and coaching basketball and lacrosse. Jon was an easy going, humble, patient, loving, forgiving, hardworking, and dedicated man of faith. He loved to sing and loved to laugh.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Barb of Becker; children, Kyle (Cristine) Lang of Becker, Sarah Lang of Castle Rock, CO, Nathan (Christine) Lang of Becker and Katelyn Lang (Mike Southard) of Becker; mother, Adeline Lang of Paynesville; sisters and brother, Susan (Tom) Arts of Valdez, AK, Keith (Paula) Lang of Paynesville, Cecelia (Jim) Scheierl of Paynesville and Janet (Gordy) Olson of Warroad; grandchildren, Chelsey, Axle, Dixie, Leilyn, Maria, Gabriella, Adelynn and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his father, Llewellyn; and nephew, Justin.

My sincere sympathy goes out to all the family; I have many fond childhood memories spending time with Jon, Janet and my brother Ron. Camping on the hill, shooting hoops at the local school and ice skating at the rink. Jon was always so easy going and carefree. He will be missed!
