Kyle Strand Obituary

Kyle D. Strand, 34

Sauk Rapids

Dec. 24, 1982 - July 31, 2017

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Joy Christian Center in St. Cloud for Kyle D. Strand, 34 of Sauk Rapids who passed away at Quiet Oaks Hospice House on Monday after a courageous battle with cancer. Pastor Brian Gobar will officiate and burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Foley. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Joy Christian Center in St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Kyle Dorman Strand was born on December 24, 1982 in St. Cloud to Duane and Susette "Susie" (Haley) Strand. He was married to Kayla Balder on February 22, 2014. Kyle worked as a project manager at TCOS for many years. He was a member of Joy Christian Center in St. Cloud. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in the cold, Minnesota weather, hunting, fishing and plowing snow. Kyle was a true craftsman, working with his hands, whose creativity led him to build anything he set his mind to. He had a great sense of humor, was well liked and demonstrated honesty, resilience and courage on a daily basis. He was a true warrior whose spirit was contagious to those around him. Kyle loved spending time with his family, his dog Maxx and his faith was very important to him.

Survivors include his wife Kayla of Sauk Rapids; parents, Duane and Susie Strand of Foley; sisters and brother, Heather (fiancé Aaron Novak) Pekarek of Foley, Chelsee (Corey Hiller) Strand of Bemidji and Dillon (Alyssa Brenny) Strand of Sauk Rapids; mother and father in law, Maurice and Traci Balder of Breezy Point; brothers in law, Kolten Balder of Foley and Erik Balder of Breezy Point; one niece, three nephews and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Michael Haley and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House (www.quietoakshospicehouse.org)

Kyle's family would like to thank the entire health care team that provided the love, kindness and compassionate care that was shown to Kyle throughout his journey.

Continue to hold Kyle's words in your heart, "I'm not done yet."

Sending my sincerest condolences on what you had to go through in your last days, it sounds painful. I am glad you are at peace. I know everyone misses your and the joy you always brought to the room and laughter. Apples...!!! Sorry I could not make it to the funeral......It was heartbreaking to see that you had passed and what you went through, but I was happy to see that you had married and had loved and had a great life. I was happy to be able to get to know you growing up.

Always,
Steph

Kayla, Teresa and I can't imagine the loss you feel. He looks like such a great guy, I wish that I had met him. I can picture him playing fetch with Frisbee. If you need anything, just call.

God Bless,
