You have been the best Dad that one could ever hope for! The memories that we have shared over the past 31 years have continued to flash through my mind over these past few days. These memories are what helps me to know that you will always be with me.
I continue to think that any moment I will be getting one of those many phone calls that we had almost every night. This will be one of the things that I will miss most.
Over the past few years you have become more that a Dad to me, you have become an example for my life and best friend. I want to thank you for all that you have taught me over the years. You have been a wonderful example of what a godly man should look like and have left a great testimony of who God is to all the people around you. You have left a great legacy!!!
Looking forward to the day that we will be united again.
Love, Brad

Dear Rose and entire Nierenhausen family,

I just don't know what to say, except that Jeanie and I are so saddened to hear of Mark's passing.

Though we have not seen each other for a number of years, Jeanie and I have frequently talked about you folks. We have always felt close to you.

Yesterday, while out for our early morning run, Jeanie said that one of the most special memories she has of Mark is that night when you had us over for dinner, and Mark shared with us how the two of you would hold hands and pray together. Another special memory was her last conversation with Mark. Jeanie had called the shop looking for some scraps for a project. They ended up talking on the phone for more than an hour. This was when we learned of Mark's tumor.

I remember Mark's great sense of humor and positive attitude. He had a great laugh! And,... Mark had charisma! He also made a great Manhattan.

Mark and I worked closely while we were building our house, and we had a number of crucial conversations when he was considering starting Mark Nierenhausen Granites. Mark was always concerned that he was making the best choice for his wife and his children.

We share your loss and sorrow.

Dear Rose and the entire Nierenhausen Family,

I can’t even begin to express how saddened I am to hear of Mark's passing. I do know that he is in the arms of Jesus. Mark was such an inspiration for me when my husband was going through cancer. He taught me so much not only about life, but living life knowing a loved one has cancer. I will miss him dearly.
Mark was also a wonderful teacher. In the past 15 ½ years of working in the monument industry he has been just wonderful to work with. Many suppliers would simply take your order and get it for you without question, but Mark would always take the time to carefully look the order over to make sure everything made sense and call and explain if something about the order didn’t seem just right. This happened many many times during my first few years in the industry. Mark was always so patient and kind to work with. Just this past Spring he helped me through a tough spot with a veterans project I was working on. I will cherish his memory and know that he lives on in the hearts and minds of his family and the many people that loved him. God bless all of you and God Bless Mark!

Sincerely,
Kathy Showen of Krause Monument in Viroqua, WI

Dear Rose, Brad, Terese & Brent,

We're so sorry for your loss, Mark was truly a kind soul. He will be missed by many.

He'd always call our office, and have an funny story to tell us, and his favorite saying was "Got any crumbs for Mark?" And if you didn't he'd follow it up with "Looks like there'll be hot dog soup for supper."

He'd talk to everyone like they were family. He'd always ask for "Rita my Sweeta".

We'll be watching for a new star to appear in the sky, cause that's where all the action will be, and it will be shining brightly.

Hugs from all of us at Menominee Granite Company,
Carla & Joe Wagner
