A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie for Mark H. Simon, age 54 of Sartell and formerly of St. Joseph who passed away at his home on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Reverend Julius Beckermann O.S.B. will officiate. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Church in Jacobs Prairie.  

Mark was born on March 17, 1961 in Richmond to Richard and Agnes (Stang) Simon. He graduated from Rocori High School. Mark worked for 28 years at DeZurik. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Granite City Machinist Local Lodge 623, and a former member of the St. Joseph Lions.

He enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, four-wheeling at the family farm, and time outdoors. Mark especially loved all the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Donald (Mary Ellen) of Rockville, Eugene (Deb) of Cold Spring, Mary (Dave) Marx of St. Cloud, Michael (LouAnn) of St. Joseph, Clarence (Shirley) of Cold Spring, Linda (Jim) Barthelemy of Sauk Rapids, Ken (Ruth) of Cold Spring, Joe (Melissa) of Avon; nieces and nephews, Greg (Angie) Simon, David (Maria) Simon, Stephanie (Gary) Spychala, Jessie (Eric) Booth, Steve (Stephanie) Simon, Alisha (fiancé Kevin Hartmann) Simon, Brian (Emily) Simon, Brent (Jayme Stang) Simon, Sara Simon, Scott (Holly) Simon, Jenna (Duane) Koski, Ryan Barthelemy, Sam, Sonya, Savannah Simon, Jacob and Katie Simon; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Marvin.
