Neil, you are always in my thoughts. You and Louie Anderson were the best storytellers. The entire Fischer, Holland, Johnson family always share their memories of your humor and kindness. You touched many in your life, Parka, Scout, and Voodoo have joined you, love,

Neil's sense of humor and his unfailing ability to 'catch' just the right photo will long be remembered! He is greatly missed as a former colleague! Peace to you, my friend!

Neil was one of the best friends I have ever had in my entire life.
Meeting him at SCSU when i was trying to be a photographer at the SCSU Chronicle in the late 70s, he shared everything he knew about photojournalism-and life. Without his mentoring I never would have enjoyed a career working at the best job in the world-being a photojournalist.
My sympathies to Kathleen, his family and all his friends.
I will miss laughing with him.

Neil Andersen was generous with his time and talent. He was our official photographer, capturing the events and spirit of Whitney Senior Center and the community that passes through its doors. It is with great sadness that we learned of Neil's death but for us, he lives on through memory, images and the gift he gave of his friendship and talents.
Peace

I worked with Neil during his SCSU days at the Chronicle (and his infamous "Bottoms Up" photo) and have crossed paths with him many times since. His wonderful talent will be sorely missed, along with his hearty greeting to me, "hey, Fox." I will miss him dearly and am so sorry for your loss.

Neil was my photographer for my wedding. At the time digital photos were new for any professional. He did both versions and did an amazing job. He will be missed!

Neil was one of the first people I met when I moved to St. Cloud and was a champion for our program over the years. He leaves a big gap in our community and we want to extend our condolences and thoughts to his family.

I also worked with Neil at the Chronicle and learned about his passion for photography. I also have bumped into him at numerous St. Cloud State athletic events over the years when he was the university photographer. We became social media friends. He had a post about wanting everyone's addresses so he could send us Christmas cards and I sent him mine half-jokingly. He sent a beautiful card with photos he shot. I'll cherish it.

My memories of Neil go back to his days at the St. Cloud State University Chronicle. I still see him with a camera around his neck.

So sorry to hear. I'm gonna miss your stories. The best story telling voice ever! Such good memories cousin. From leaf forts at Grandmas house to hiking in the Rockies.

I will long remember Neil's presence at most all events at SCSU ~ always camera-ready! He shared his wonderful sense of humor, finding great enjoyment when delivering the punch line. He was gifted with a quiet demeanor. He made days at SCSU more memorable. Thank you! Peace to you, Neil.

I am so sad to hear of Neil's passing. He was the ever present SCSU campus photographer for many years. He was very generous with his time and skills. He photographed many of the staff and faculty as well as our students. He came to my class to share his experiences with my students and he told it like it was. The students really appreciated what he could do. Thanks for sharing Neil. Rest in Peace.
