Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Raymond P. Tschumperlin, age 74, who passed away Wednesday at his home. Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil, OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley and one hour prior to the services Saturday also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley.

Ray was born Sept. 29, 1938 in Eden Valley to Christ & Agnes (Millerbernd) Tschumperlin. He married Judy Jude on June 11, 1966 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Ray farmed on the home farm all of his life and also drove truck for Dan Tschumperlin Farms and worked at General Mills in Litchfield for 5½ years after retiring from farming. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, St. Joseph Society and Catholic Aid. Ray enjoyed farming, milking for 45 years, driving the gator with his grandchildren, spending winters in Texas, and driving truck for Dan. He also enjoyed fishing, 4 wheeling, playing cards, boating, bowling, traveling, dancing, camping, and the Corner Bar group.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of Eden Valley; daughter and son, Deanna (Bryan) Klaphake of Cold Spring and Dan (Jackie Griep) of Eden Valley; grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Aaron and Ashley Klaphake; sister and brother, Luella (Werner) Kraemer of Paynesville and Ken (Gaylia) Tschumperlin of Cold Spring; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy Tschumperlin of Watkins, Wayne (Arlene) Jude of Paynesville, Gary (Cathy) Jude of Maple Lake, Alan (Kathy) Jude of Annandale, Glenn (Darlene) Jude of Dayton, and Brad (Mary) Jude of Elk River; and many nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gregory; brother, Eugene; and parents-in-law, Francis & Clara Jude.

I wish you all the strength it needs to hold out the pain.
Many years ago as a young man I had the occasion to help you for a few weeks on your farm. I learnt a lot from Ray. He was a good teacher and had a warm heart. I will never forget him.

Judy, Deanna, and Dan my very deepest sympathy, what a shock I had when I checked the paper online. Ray was a very good kind man, he will be greatly missed. I am sorry I can not be at the funneral, I will be there in my thoughts and prayers. I will light a candle for all of you Sunday.
