Robert J. Peitz

1957 - 2017

Robert J. "Rob" Peitz, 60, of Willmar, died Sunday, November 26th, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His funeral will be 1:00 pm, Friday, December 1st at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Rob was born March 6, 1957, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Theresa (Fahsl) Peitz. He grew up in Sauk Rapids and graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1975. He continued his education, attended college for commercial cooking.

On September 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to Carla Wagner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. Two children, Leah and John, were born to this union. They moved to Willmar in 1985 where he worked in the bakery for Cashwise Foods. Rob always enjoyed mechanical work and fixing things with his hands. He found his true calling first working on small engines at Cenex, then continued working maintenance at Gurley's Foods for the past 15 years.

He had a warm heart for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and even a raccoon, they were always welcomed in his home. Rob was able to purchase his first Harley Davidson and cherished the time he was able to ride. If he wasn't fixing a lawnmower, golf cart, car, or snowblower, he could be found near his home, enjoying the peace and serenity of the outdoors.

Surviving are his children, Leah (and Andrew) Hanson of Atwater and John Peitz of Willmar. Also surviving are his siblings: Paulette Pikus of Champlin; Nancy (and John) Colucci of Forest Lake; Jim (and Anita) Peitz of Sauk Rapids; Frank (and Joelle) Peitz of St. Joseph; Duane (and Anita) Richter of St. Cloud; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
