Mrs. Schwegel & Family:

I'm deeply saddened by Mr. Schwegel's passing. Many fond memories come flooding back to me when I think of all the great times we had at the Sauk River and Mr. Schwegel's "Field of Dreams" baseball diamond just down the road from the Schwegel home. It was primarily at that field where many of us honed our baseball skills under the watchful eye of Mr. Schwegel. I recall many visits to the mound by Mr. Schwegel and the tough love he administered in an attempt to extract the best out of our skills. He was tough, but yet fair. He instilled and cultivated physical and mental toughness in all of us at a very young age and I'm in debt to him for emphasizing those traits. I was very fortunate to experience Mr. Schwegel at his very best, which was stalking the baselines while coaching and prodding us to be the best we could be. May our Lord and Savior guide Mr. Schwegel to a place of refreshment, light, and peace for eternal rest.
