Duane R. Frankart, age 63, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
He was born on September 19, 1961 in Norwalk, Ohio to Jack R. and Ann M. (Hammersmith) Frankart.
Duane loved the Lord and was an active member of the Willard Church of the Nazarene where, with his wife Karen, he led married couple's groups and Compassionate Ministry. He worked at R.R. Donnelley for 32 years before going to work at Sears as a Residential Appliance Repair Technician, Mason Equity as a Maintenance Supervisor, and currently working as the Maintenance Technician for Sam's Club and Walmart in Ontario, Ohio.
He enjoyed the Miami Dolphins and OSU Football, 80's music, fishing, donuts, and Big Foot. He enjoyed fixing things and was good at it. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren, and his church family.
Duane is survived by his wife, Karen, whom he married on February 14, 2006; children, Kelly Paull of Dayton, Ohio; Shannon (Daniel) Parsons of Shelby, Ohio; James (Natalie) Frankart of Bowling Green, Ohio; Michael (Emily) Smith of Ashland, Ohio; and Jacob Frankart of East Lake Weir, Florida; grandchildren, Kendal, Kaiden, Elliot, Kolton, Eddie, Kody and Jack; parents, Jack and Ann Frankart of Willard, Ohio; siblings, Deano Frankart of Willard, Ohio; Dianne Frankart of Shelby, Ohio; Darlene (Pete) Gianndrea of Summerville, South Carolina; Daren (Brenda) Frankart of Willard, Ohio; and Devin Frankart of McAllen, Texas; and 35 nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Renee Frankart; niece, Braeleigh Frankart; nephew, Nick Frankart; Grandma Hammersmith; Grandpa Tessie and Aunt Norma Ross.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025 from 2 PM – 4 PM.
Visitation will continue on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025 from 11 AM until the time of his service at 1 PM with Pastor James Pomerich officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Ministry at the Willard Church of the Nazarene.
