Largo, FL - Allan N. Sander, (72), Largo, FL - Allan N. Sander passed away on (February 22, 2021). He was born on June 7, 1948 in Exeter, N.H., being the son of Nils & Ruth Sander of Kingston, N.H. Allan was a member of the last graduating class of Sanborn Seminary in 1966, & later graduated from Springfield College (BS), University of Denver (MA), & Florida State University (PhD). His teacher education career focused on preparing health, physical education, & sport career leaders while a professor at Northeastern University, Stetson University, and University of North Florida (UNF). Allan was honored as a State of Florida University Teacher Educator of the Year; as President of the Association for Physical Education in Florida; as Coordinator of the Physical Teacher Education Program at UNF; & as Director of Florida's Fit to Achieve Program for Children. He began his career as a summer fitness/recreation leader in addition to being a teacher/coach in the Lynnfield/Gloucester Public Schools. Allan was an enthusiastic fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, & FSU Seminole Football, while treasuring American patriotism throughout his life. He leaves his two beloved sons, Erik & Ryan Sander, a sister - Asta Day, a cousin - Nancy Paterno, nieces - Robin Carter, Shari Nave, Karen Lloyd, & Jennifer Day, nieces/nephews, and several lifelong friends.
