Beatrice Coleman Obituary

CAROL STREAM, Ill. — Beatrice M. Coleman, 99, of Carol Stream, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. She remained active until the last few years of her life.

She was born April 11, 1909, in Revere, Mass., the oldest child of Fred and Jeannne Miskelly. She graduated from Revere High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Simmons College and a masters degree from Boston University.

Bea was employed for more than 20 years by Scituate (Mass.) High School as a home economics teacher and later as a high school guidance counselor. She lived for more than 60 years in South Weymouth, Mass., attending Park Street Church in Boston and the South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, Mass. For the past 11 years, she resided in Carol Stream, Ill., at Windsor Park Manor.

Bea is survived by her three sons, Donald A. Coleman, and wife, Rosalin, of Lakeland, Fla., David L. Coleman, and wife, Barbara, of Naperville, Ill., and Douglas C. Coleman, and wife, Mary Ann, of Kennebunk, Maine. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, James B. Miskelly, of Palm Coast, Fla.; and five nieces and nephews.

Donations in her name may be made to a local Salvation Army center.
