Brian Poor Obituary
Brian was born in Portsmouth on March 11, 1968 to Robert and Susan (Harrington) Poor. He attended Portsmouth schools and worked in the local Seacoast auto body industry from the age of 17.
Brian leaves behind his devoted wife, Bree Poor; and his beautiful children, Kayleigh Poor of Rochester; and Taylor and Andrew Brooks of Rollinsford. His parents Susan and Richard Diehl of Portsmouth and Robert and June Poor of Berwick also survive Brian; as well as a grandfather, William Poor, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Linda and her husband Gregg Varrell, and Kathy Marsh. Cory, Samantha and Shawn Michael will miss a fun-loving Uncle Brian. Also left are a special uncle and racing partner, William Poor Jr., of Derry, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian was predeceased by his grandmother Priscilla (Evitts) Poor and grandparents Dorothy (Pitman) and Marshall Harrington.
WE REMEMBER: Brian was an unbelievably hard worker; he was a caring and loving husband, father and son. But most of all, he was an amazing friend to all that were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. He was a remarkable person with a huge heart. Brian would do anything for anyone, and always before ever thinking of himself. He loved to spend his summers at the family camps in Alton and Ossipee, two very special places in his heart. In recent years, family and friends spent many weekends at New England Dragway, watching Brian drive the beloved race car he and his uncle built and painted.
Brian's family says he is loved beyond words and that his is already deeply missed by all.
SERVICES: A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Brian's wife would like to thank all of the work personnel at WDH who were there on Wednesday night. The appreciation for your caring and support cannot be described in words. Family flowers are welcome. Donations may be sent in Brian's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or a charity of your choice.

Well, my Love...here we are, or here I am -rather...ONE year later. Still in a haze, still in a fog, wishing I was still numb with shock and disbelief.
It doesn't get ANY easier you know...I really have no idea who ever came up with the term "time heals all wounds" because they obviously never had a wound as deep as mine. There are some days that are even worse...like today, and yesterday, and all week actually...
I haven't healed and now know that I won't...ever. It's more like what losing a limb must feel like...you manage, you get around, you work and play, you adjust...but you're still missing something huge that you try to accomodate for, every minute of every day...and even though you're still functioning, every day that passes just makes you painfully aware that you're never getting back whatever it is you're missing.
You are my heart and soul, Brian...and I have no idea how to adjust or accomodate my life to missing something like that.
I got cards today..."anniversary" sympathy cards. Not once in my entire life did I ever imagine pulling something like that from the mailbox...
I love and miss you, Bub...forever and ever.

I can't believe it's been a month already...and of course it has to be the 4th of July...
there will never be another holiday that I'll completely enjoy again, without you.
Unfortunately, time hasn't made anything better or easier...I miss you more & more with each passing day.
But thank you for the hearts & pennies...

First of all, I send my deepest condolences to everyone who held Brian near and dear. Brian...I will never forget the summers that I went to the cabin with you where I tried to kneeboard and waterski. To this day I still don't get it! The tubing was a blast though! I really enjoyed all the time that you spent with us as kids. Thank you for all of it. And to those you leave behind...he will always be with you in your heart.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the service on Weds. I can't imagine how devastating this must be for you and the kids. If you ever want to talk widow to widow or just shoot the breeze give me a ring. I have been out of town and have just now heard about Brian's passing. I am so very sorry, I always enjoyed seeing him at the shop and there was never anything but a smile on his face. He will be missed by all of us at the office.

I have been thinking about you and Andy and Taylor and still can't even imagine what you are all going thru or feeling.

Hey Bub...God, it was a tough one today. I still can't get past the fact that I don't have you here to come home and talk to. I guess that's why I keep writing.
Going through all your tools and boxes and packrat items today just broke my heart even more. I just kept remembering all the times we'd spend together out in the garage. The things that I'd organize for you and put away for you and fiddle with...they were all still there...but YOU weren't.
Life without you will never be the same. I miss you and love you beyond what words could explain...

I have fond memories of Brian (my ex- brother in-law) since he was in my life since I was 4 or 5. Summer's at the camps, Weekends at the house, Kay's birthday parties. He was always good to us, he adored his family and had passion that was infective. May you always be at peace.
