Doris Marsolais Obituary

HAMPTON — Doris D. Marsolais, 79, of Hampton, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Country Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Newburyport, Mass.

She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Amesbury, Mass., a daughter of the late Hormidas and Evelyn (Broulliard) St. Germain.

Mrs. Marsolais graduated from Amesbury High School with the Class of 1947.

Family members include her son, Gary P. Marsolais and wife Debra of Kensington; her daughter, Lee Ann Kelley and husband David of Hampton; her two grandchildren, Colin P. Kelley and Robert L. Kelley, both of Hampton; three brothers, Roger St. Germain and wife Persis of West Andover, Mass., Joseph St. Germain and wife Shirley of Groveland, Mass., and Maurice St. Germain and wife Terry of Methuen, Mass.; her sister, Pauline Macey of Salisbury, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Robert P. Marsolais, her loving husband of 56 years, who predeceased her on March 10, 2008.

WE REMEMBER: She made her home in Newburyport for most of her life before moving to Hampton in 1986, where she and her late husband experienced many years of enjoyment by the ocean they loved so much.

She was employed in the dining hall at Governor's Academy in Byfield, Mass., for 15 years. The special friendships she enjoyed over these many years were honored by the students and faculty just prior to her retirement in 1989, with the dedication of the school yearbook to their beloved "Doris."

Doris was a loving mother and friend to her two children and their spouses. Aside from her immediate family and friends, she found her greatest source of enjoyment, comfort, and pride in her two grandsons.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church in Rye Beach.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Country Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Newburyport, for their exceptional and loving care. Their tremendous support, help, and friendships are of great comfort. They also thank the nurses and volunteers of the North Shore Hospice, Danvers, Mass., for their professionalism and dedication.
