Robert Norton Obituary

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Robert M. Norton, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Hospice By the Sea, in Boca Raton, Fla., after a long illness.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass., and raised in Chestnut Hill and he was a longtime resident of Andover, Mass., and Ogunquit, Maine. Bob graduated from St. Sebastian's School and Lawrenceville (N.J.) Academy. He enrolled at Colby College, joined the United States Marine Corps and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Bob established RM Norton and Co., a human resources consulting business in 1974, retiring in the early 1990s. He was a youth hockey and soccer coach for his children's teams in Andover, loved opera and classical music, bred and showed Boxers, was a World War II history buff and loved relaxing at Ogunquit Beach. Bob moved to Ogunquit in 1995, having been a summer resident since the 1950s.

Bob was the husband of the late Martha "Mitzi" (Trull) Norton.

He was the loving father of Heather A., and her husband, Paul M. Dwyer, of Stoughton, Mass., and Todd M. Norton, and his fiancé, Yazirah Molina, and her daughter, Valentina Orjuela, all of Florida.

A Memorial Mass took place in St. Agatha Church, 432 Adams St., Milton, Mass., on Wednesday, Dec. 10. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
