Sheldon Goodman Obituary
He was born on March 24, 1929 in Boston, Mass., a son of Samuel and Mary (Krasker) Goodman. Sheldon was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, the University of Bridgeport and the University of New Hampshire. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, Sheldon was proprietor of the Portsmouth Paper Company in Portsmouth.
He was a member of Temple Israel in Portsmouth; member of St. Andrews Lodge No. 56 F&AM, Portsmouth; Bektash Temple Shrine, Concord; Portsmouth Rotary; Red House; Abenaqui Country Club; Portsmouth Country Club and Wentworth By The Sea Country Club.
A sister, Adele Goodman Hoeflich, predeceased him.
Besides his wife, Renee F. (Bauer) Goodman of Naples, Fla., survivors include son, Steven Goodman; daughter, Lisa Ohayon and her husband, Jack; son, Cris Goodman and his wife, Chichi; four grandchildren and their spouses, Natalee and Erik Martin, David and Jenny Ohayon, Samantha Goodman, and Colby Goodman; great grandchildren, Abigail Martin and Isabel Martin; a brother, Bernard Goodman and his wife, Jeanette; several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Temple Israel, 200 State Street, Portsmouth. Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Banfield Road, Portsmouth. Memorial contributions may be made to: Aid For Cancer Research, c/o June Weinberg, 33 Wade Street, Brighton, MA 02135.
