Allison Wanamaker Obituary

Allison Temple WANAMAKER, JR. Temple was born to Dr. Allison T. Wanamaker and Helen A. Wanamaker in Seattle on July 16, 1918 and passed away on November 16, 2004 in Costa Rica. He spent thirty years as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State, serving in Spain, the U.S. Navy, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Argentina, Washington, D.C. and Costa Rica. He retired in Costa Rica and established a dairy farm. His wife Sophia died in 1965 and his second wife Judy in 2002. He is survived by his son Peter of Tucson, Arizona, daughters Natalie Javier and Allison Wanamaker of Costa Rica, grandchildren Alexander, Susan, Jordan, Sergei and Sophia and his sister Alice Wanamaker of Seattle.

Since I am the youngest member of my generation, and 20 years younger than Temple, I did not know him well. My only extended contact with him was during a trip to Costa Rica,where he was most Hospitable. My condolences go to his family.
