Amy McDowell Obituary

Amy Imogene McDOWELL A sweet voice with tolerance and a vast wit. Born on October 1st, 1926 in Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday morning of complications after heart surgery. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife and friend. A talented artist, her water colors depicting peaceful gardens and flowers mirrored her genteel spirit and overwhelming tolerance while the vivid colors she chose reflected her quick wit and vitality. Her poetry was a gift that was enjoyed by many. Amy loved books, movies and crossword puzzles. She moved from Kansas to Washington State in 1965. She brought with her a slight mid-west accent and soft voice which was a comforting sound to all who loved her and she was loved by all who knew her. Amy is survived by her husband, Rex McDowell, her son, Steven McDowell of Kent, her daughter, Mindy McDowell of Sacramento, five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. A Memorial will be held on Tuesday June 6th, 2:15 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
