Andrew McConnell Obituary

Andrew McConnell

God welcomed and embraced Andrew Michael McConnell on January 6 at the age of 27. Andrew was born July 16, 1987 in Bellevue, WA. The oldest son of Michael and Marlys Johnson McConnell. Andrew was a passionate soul who loved deeply, forgave freely and accepted others without judgment. He loved music and he loved to dance. His heart was just too sweet; he felt too much for this world. Andrew was loved by many; from Seattle to New York City where his infectious smile lit up many kitchens, working as a Master Pizzaiolo with a popular following. Andrew is survived by his mother, Marlys McConnell; his father, Michael McConnell; brother Christopher McConnell, his step-mother Liz McConnell and step-sister, Vivian Gossard. He also leaves grandparents Sue and Eric Christenson, grandparents Darryll and Cherry Johnson, grandparents Madeline and Mike Musik, grandparents Patrick and Heidi McConnell, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, January 13 at Sunset Memorial, 1215 145th Pl SE, Bellevue, WA. At 5:30pm, following the memorial, a reception and celebration of Andrew's life will be held at the Sky Church at EMP Museum, 325 5th Ave N., Seattle. The Andrew Michael McConnell Memorial Fund was created to provide hope, support and treatment for heroin addiction and recovery in the Seattle community. Please donate whatever is in your heart to The Andrew Michael McConnell Memorial Fund at Puget Sound Bank in Bellevue.

I've been pretty much totally disconnected socially for quite a while now so I just found out about Andrew's passing, and I am so sorry for your loss. I have such wonderful memories of bowling Saturday morning league together. And I'll never forget he took me to one of my 1st concerts & then we got to meet, get autographed (quite literally on my forehead!) & take pictures with Sum41 afterwards. He brought so much joy to so many, the world is a little colder & a lot less colorful without him. I wish it hadn't been so very long since I saw or had any communication with him, but I guess that's life. Your families will certainly be in both my mom's & my prayers. I hope you find some comfort in knowing how many people's lives he touched & how much he meant to so very many. Andrew will never- actually probably more like- COULD never be forgotten by anyone. Therefore he lives on forever in our hearts, in so very many hearts. Those we love never truly leave us...

I did not know Andrew, but my cousin, Heather Earnhardt did of The Wandering Goose. The most creative, feeling, beautiful, angelic, souls are often to leave this life way too soon. My thoughts are with all of you, his family, friends, and the Wandering Goose.

My best memories with Andrew are when I would call him to listen to the advice he would give me about life. He always knew what to say. He was always a good listener and was always so loving with his words. He spoke directly from the heart.
My deepest condolence to the family and friends.
Forever missed.
Love always, your friend,
