Bruce W. Beckstrom

Bruce Warner Beckstrom was born to Ruth and Victor Beckstrom on November 4, 1952 in Santa Monica, CA. They moved to the Burien area three years later when his father was hired by Boeing. Growing up Bruce liked sports, especially football, fishing and scouting where he earned the rank of Eagle.

He graduated from University of Washington with a BS from the College of Forest Resources. The next two years were in Appleton, WI earning a Master's degree from The Institute of Paper Chemistry. He worked his entire career for the engineering firm A. H. Lundberg Associates, Inc. in Bellevue, WA where he eventually became the president and part owner of the firm. During his career he enjoyed traveling extensively both domestically and internationally to various job sites.

After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, photography and watching sports especially the Huskies and the Seahawks. He often went to Mariners games.

In 2009 he married the love of his life, Bing Dai and gained an instant family with her son Charlie.

Bruce died November 7, 2019, three days after his 67th birthday surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by both parents and his older brother, Dwight Beckstrom.He is survived by his wife Bing, stepson Charlie Sun, his brother Scott (Carla) and sister Julie (Andrew) Crain and sister-in-law, Myra Beckstrom.

The memorial service is Thurs.,

Nov. 21st at 1:00 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 19030 8th Ave. S., SeaTac, WA 98148.
