LUCIA R. UHLIG

LUCIA R. UHLIG Lucia R. Uhlig of Jersey City passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Christ Hospital. She was 86. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she came to the United States and settled in New York City for many years before moving to Jersey City in 1992. Lucia was an Airline Stewardess for Pan Am World Airways for over thirty years. She later worked as Supervisor and Ground Hostess at the 5th Avenue Pan Am Building. After retiring from Pan Am, Lucia went to work as a travel Counselor at Battery Travel, Elaine Goldhill Travel and at the United Nations. Lucia was a kind and generous friend and wonderful neighbor to many at the Grandview Apartments. She was a devoted supporter of the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Lucia was predeceased by her husband, William O. Uhlig. She is survived by her dear friends, Ruth Calabrese and Maria Lohmeyer as well as a host of other friends too numerous to mention. Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. All friends are invited to assemble at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. for a service followed by interment at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
