Donald Jefferson Fisher

Donald Jefferson Fisher, 100, passed away on 21 February 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Ohio. He was born on June 19, 1917 in Ashland Ohio to Joseph and Myrtle (Feicht) Fisher.

Don grew up in the New England area. He graduated from Syracuse University in New York in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in Business and married Laura Neuenschwander the same year. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific as a Japanese translator and contracting officer. After his military service, he worked in contracting for the Department of Defense and retired in 1972. He then went to work for Weyerhaeuser in Washington.

He enjoyed playing golf, discussing politics, and playing bridge with his numerous friends Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Laura, brothers Joseph and Robert Fisher, and sister Bonnie van Deveer.

Don is survived by his son Jeff (Barb) Fisher of Dayton Ohio; three grandchildren Marc (Amy) Fisher, Jennifer (Wade) May, and John (Angela) Fisher all of Dayton Ohio. He had four great-grandchildren, Alexa Petrus, Branden Fisher, Jaxson Fisher, and Lillian Fisher.

At the request of Don, no memorial service will be held. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington.
