I want to extend my sympathy to you and your family on your loss. I am a 1978 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University. When I arrived
in Tacoma, Washington as a junior in Fall 1976, I heard many great things about Don. Even after his own graduation, Don's presence was strongly felt on campus and has influenced me all these years.
Sadly, we never met. I thought of him always as a "sportscasting older brother" since I wanted to be a play-by-play announcer just like him. His memory will live forever at PLU and in Memphis!

Very sad to hear of Don's passing. It was fun to see a local fella like Don do so well in the world of sports announcing. He had a great voice and did a great job. I don't know if this makes any sense but he was comfortable to listen to. My condolensces to his family and friends.
