Donald Rogers Obituary

Donald LaForrest ROGERS Donald LaForrest Rogers went home to heaven on April 4, 2011. Born August 14, 1921 in Kirkland, WA to Manson Rogers and Gladys Wright. Devoted husband to wife Dorothy of 56 years until her death in 2001. Survived by sister Arlene Nessly, daughter Carol (Robert) Odem, daughter Linda (Brehon) McFarland, son Gary (Diane) Rogers, grandchildren Christopher, Jason, Brooke Alisha, Brandon, Breanna, Jeremiah, great-grandson Ryder. Attended UW on Naval ROTC scholarship, served in WW II and Korean War. Worked for Union Oil and Lincoln National Life. Longtime resident of Lake Forest Park. One of founding members of Westminister Chapel, Bellevue. Don was a faithful and true servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ. Don was a kind man who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank all of Don's caregivers at Cascade Vista in Redmond for their exceptional care over the past seven months. Graveside service at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 242nd St, Kent, on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Family would prefer donations to Young Life North Seattle or Westminister Chapel in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by Barton Family Funeral Service in Kirkland.

To each of you and your families..I am glad that your Dad had such a long life!! He was a wonderful person and being the last of the Gwinn eight..I want you to know how he was a wonderful part of the family. You will miss him and always love him!! I love each of you!!! Your Aunt Bunny

To Carol, Linda, Gary and their families, I send my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dad. He was a quiet-spoken, elegant man with such a positive influence on so many people; a man who served wherever he was needed. How amazing that he lived such a long life. God bless you all.
