Dorothy Tausan Obituary

Dorothy TAUSAN Dorothy (nee Golby) Tausan was born February 14, 1913 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. She passed away peacefully on April 15, 2010 in Shoreline, Washington at Gardenview Residential Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband, George Tausan in 1982 and by her daughter, Doreen Martindale (nee Bennallack), who passed away in 2005. Dorothy is survived by her son-in-law, Ken Martindale, two grandchildren, Sandra Martindale (Roger) and Tim Martindale (Patty), and her great-grandchildren Jacqueline, Carly, Michelle and Luke. Dorothy is also remembered by her husband's daughter Bernita, and her daughter Melissa (Pete) and their son Adam. In addition, she will be missed by her friends Doug from Catholic Community Services, and Julie and Elly from Elder Friends, each of whom provided love and service to her in her senior years. Dorothy came to Seattle in 1937 and worked as a cashier at Safeway for most of her adult life. Dorothy loved her garden, cooking, and visiting with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli, on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm, 11111 Aurora Ave North, Seattle, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Community Services and Elder Friends in Seattle. Please sign Dorothy's online guestbook at www.washelli.com
