My Dad E. L. Ayers was quite a guy. Near the end we were able to talk about such things as dishwashers we had owned and I had the opportunity to tell him what compact discs and DVD’s are. When a CD was playing and he didn’t like a selection, he would say, “I don’t think much of that one.” He and Mom raised 4 diverse kids that grew into diverse adults.

A father as well as a mother are major influences in shaping the basic personality and world view of his children. Les was not just a "good father"; he was one of the greats. The Ayers family loss is shared by all of us who met or knew him. His legasy lives on in his adult children.

Les Ayers was such a wonderful father. I always enjoyed hearing about how he took the family on both day trips and summer vacations. He even packed the kid's lunches when they were in school. He was the kind of father that showed his kids regularly how much he loved them.

I love you Dad. I miss your comforting smile and your wonderful sense of humor. You are a source of strength, grace under pressure, respect, intelligent conversation and fatherly love. God bless you.
