I first met Ed in 1963. He taught at East Seattle and I taught at Mercer View. Over the years we stayed connected with me meeting Nancy and the kids and making visits to the wine cellar off Rainier Ave. We enjoyed lots of discussions and played handball at the U of W. Later we both taught at Island Park. I missed seeing Ed join the clowns in the Seafair Parade. Ed's personality leaves a warm impression in my memory. My whole family will miss Ed. Ed and I first met in 1963, he taught at East Seattle and I at Mercer View. Over the years we stayed connected. I've met Nancy and the kids when they were young We played handball at U of W and taught together again at Island Park. Great Guy. I miss seeing him in the Seafair Parade with the clowns, also the trips to the wine cellar off Rainier Ave. Not too many people you know that leave a definite impression as Ed. People in my family will miss Ed. James and Ingrid Stipes

Ed and my husband, Dan Crace were friends from high school and that friendship lasted their entire life. The stories they could tell never got old - at least not to them. They spent hours together in their later years sharing memories of O'Dea and the adventures they had together. I was privileged to be able to share in their joy. I'm sure they are both still telling the same stores to anyone who'll listen. Pat Crace Puterbaugh.

ED WAS "MY FAVORITE BROTHER IN LAW". WE SANG MANY SONGS TOGETHER AND SHARED A GLASS OR TWO OF HIS FAMOUS "DEROCCO WINE" PLUS A LITTLE IRISH WHISKEY. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS LAUGH.

My mom (Ed's cousin) and I travelled to Seattle for Mark's wedding. Ed and Nancy were the most incredible hosts and the whole De Rocco clan embraced us even though we had not seen each other for over 20 years. Ed's warmth and good humor were infectious. Please accept our deepest condolences.

Ed provided so many wonderful memories beginning when I was 4 or 5 years old. He was a calming and stable rock in a very turbulent world. His wonderful rendition of Italian songs brought peace and calm to all family gatherings. Ed always made time to make reach and every person present feel they were special. I will always cherish the Easter dinners prepared for him Nancy and Mark in our Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ., home.
You will forever fill my life as you join Nancy. Love CUZ

Ed DeRocco was a great man! I got to know him during the years I was a parishioner at St. Edward's back in the 1980s. I think we were even in the church choir together for a while (my memory is a little fuzzy there). He was always a big hit at the annual Italian Dinners in the parish hall. I never met a more CHEERFUL man in my life! My sincere condolences to Mark (my classmate from O'Dea, class of '77) and the whole family. He will be sorely missed by many people. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

John and family,

I am sorry to hear about your father passing. I remember from our days at St. Edwards and O'Dea that he always had a smile on his face and a pleasant thought to offer.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Mr De Rocco was my 6th grade teacher at East Seattle Elementary. He was the best! We used to walk by his classroom on the main level years after we graduated just to say hi.
