I miss you so much, Daddy
July 10, 2009
Hi daddy, I want to say Happy Birthday, too. I dream about you and mama all the time and the dreams are so real and funny, I don't want to wake up. One time just recently, I had a funny dream with you and mama and Sonny, and I heard this funny noise, and it was so bothersome, come to find out, it was my alarm clock, it seemed it had been ringing for about 20 to 30 minutes. Jeanne finally got me up and told me to get ready for work. I love and miss you daddy, and kiss mama and Sonny for me. Can you believe our little Moni is married? God is still good and always will be, Daddy. I miss you terribly. Love you.

To the Allen Family,
My condolences to all of you. I remember when I was growing up and we lived in the Valley, next door to Thelma amd Piggy. Gene would come over and paint our house for us when it needed painting. He aalways would talk and joke with me, give me candy, gum, or change to buy a popsicle at the store down the street. I was always happy when he was visiting Thelma next door or at our house, painting. He was such a fun person to be around. I wish I could have seen him again before I moved from Seattle.

Daddy-as always, I MISS YOU SO MUCH!! Congratulations for you and mama on your anniversary. I thank God for you and mama and your teaching and loving us the way you did. I really respect and treasure everything that was taught-I love you both so much. Mama misses you, too, daddy, very much-we can see it in her eyes. But one day, we will all be reunited again, and what a time we will all have. I'm getting a little sad as I'm writing this, thinking about you, so I'm going to stop my writing, and just tell you again, because I really mean it, and I can never say it enough, that I truly miss you and love you so much daddy. I can't wait to see you again. I love you-I can't even describe how much.

Daddy, let me be the first to wish you and mama A HAPPY 51st ANNIVERSARY. Daddy you were always very creative, and solution oriented person. You were always honest to us, if you did not always think what we were doing was right, you would not hesitate, to inform us of your feeling. You and Mama had that in common, that is why the love that you two shared between one another was a bond that lasted for so long. I love you for that, and much more. You have passed the torch on to me, and I will not let you down.I know you are looking down on all of us, and once again making sure that we are doing the right thing. Inclosing, you and Mama are First-rate parents. For always and forever, your son,Tony. love ya dad. P.S. Marie and Jeanne are doing a awesome job, taking care of Mama. You can tell on her face that she miss's you very much. once again much love to you over and over again.

Daddy-Happy Birthday!! I miss you so badly, daddy, but I know you're still with us. When they had my and Jeanne's birthday party, we know you were laughing at us because, daddy, out of all the nine kids you raised, and all the barbecuing you've done, do you know that we had to have a conference to "learn" how to even "start" the barbecue fire? Well, your son, Tony, came through and we were finally able to put the meat on. We were all thinking about you, and we laughed knowing that you were laughing at us. I miss you terribly, daddy, but I still remember and hear your voice. I will never, ever, never, forget all that you taught us-now I know how to "start" a barbecue!! I love you so much, daddy, so much. It's lonely without you here, but with God's help, we are making it. Love your daughter, Ree

Happy Fathers Day
It seemed just like the other day, when you and mom were teaching me how to pray.
I can remember when you would take us on a Sunday drive,
Everytime a truck would get beside us,I would yell "big truck dad, big truck, that was when I was about five.
Once again, it seemed just like the other day,
When you were taking me to play football over on 23rd and yesler, the place was C.A.Y.A.
Oh how I remember, dad you would take the entire team out to eat,
You were always there for us, even in defeat.
Dad I remember when how you would help me in my math,
Then you would turn around, and offer me two bits, to clean the restroom, after you took your bath.
Dad do you remember back in 1986, when you bought your first cad,
Three month's later,I gave you little D'von, making you a very proud Grand dad.
You would alway's be over my house, staying quite alwhile,
playing with your grandson, with that lovely smile.
Dad as I close this chapter, of book # 1.
you are my most inspiration, that is why I love you so much, from your #6 son, like I said, I am not done.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

You knew when Gene was in the house;he had a very powerful voice and he always seem to be in good spirit. I can still hear his laughther and I remember his smile of joy and happiness. Through the years I learned to speak up when around Gene and to acknowledge his welcome into his home. If you didn't he was quick to let you know...
I to enjoyed his cooking. I watched him make Beef Stroganoff many times. Gene wasn't the type of man who shares his recipes. I begged him several time for the Beef Stroganoff recipe, finally he let me in on his secret. I couldn't wait to make my 1st Beef Stroganoff and I felt it was an honor to received one of Gene's prize dishes.
I am very happen to know when my time comes to live in the Heavenly place I will see Gene again and laugh together.

The Family of Eugene G. Jacobs
Marie and Jeanne you two young ladies are the best. I have watched you Marie over the last 8 years with your parents and asked GOD to give me your love, understanding, that I witness with my own eyes to your parents. I know Mr Jacobs is smiling and thanking GOD for given him such a beautiful child. Marie you should be smiling and full of joy, because in all my 48 years of living, I have never seem one person give so much of themselves to someone else. Mr Jacobs was a blessed man to have both you and Jeanne. Marie, as I type, I can hear your father saying "Marie my child, job well done you good and faith servant, now go and enjoy your life.

Rest In Peace, Brown Daddy. I'm sure going to miss those pool room chats I had no business eavesdropping in on. 4315 was THE PLACE TO BE.
To my siblings and cousins-remember how you felt when you got to ride in Brown Daddy's FIRST Cadillac? Yeah, I know I'm taking you back. The smell of the leather. When he turned the corners..most of all, his playfulness. He used to crack me up! Even when he was yelling, you knew he wasn't going to stay mad. Too cool.
Rest In Peace, Brown Daddy.

I didn't know Eugene very well; however, I heard very good things about him. I remember how nice he was when I come over to visit Marie. In addition, Marie is a great person; consequently,I know that he had to be a very good person. I hate I missed out on tasting his food, I understand that he could cook. I thank God that he accepted Christ before he went home. Therefore,if you live right, you can see him again!

We know that God is awesome and for God to bless all of us to have Eugene here on earth for over 80 years shows that Eugene was a man that had favor with God. On May 25, 2006 God said I need you home with me now, I need to make you whole, wipe your tears aways and dismiss all your pain. The word of God say "To be asbsent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. God's WILL is perfect and he will give us strength and courage to go on in life and live it to the fullest, that is what Eugene expect us to do. In difficult time we must not put our trust in ourselves, but in God he will keep us and give us victory. Keep your eyes on Jesus and healing with take place. Stay with God and he will stay with you.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I knew Gene only as a strong man and outwardly competent father figure to his family and all the kids in the neighborhood. My heart goes out to his family and to those I knew as friends from that household. Everybody had a great outlook on life during that time and Gene must have had something to do with it. I thoroughly appreciate the experiences I shared with the Jacobs/Allen family. Take care Paul and Lloyd and give my love to the rest of the family.
