Gabriel McCaddon Obituary

Sister Gabriel Mary McCADDON (Mary McCaddon) SNJM Born Mary McCaddon July 25, 1920 in Bellingham, Washington to Francis W. and Dorothy (Leonard) McCaddon. Died October 30, 2002 in Seattle. A member of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary since 1942, Sister Gabriel Mary taught in elementary schools in Seattle, Tacoma, Everett and Spokane. She was a first grade teacher from 1944 to 1994, except for two years. Her parents and two brothers, Joseph and John McCaddon, preceded her in death. Two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and their extended families survive her. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today, Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Memorial services will be held in Spokane at the Convent of the Sisters of the Holy Names at a later date. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane. Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Names Sisters' Retirement Fund, 2911 West Fort Wright Dr., Spokane, WA 99224.

My sister and I had the pleasure to meet with her and find out a bit more of our family history and at the sametime had the pleasure of getting to know her more than we originally anticipated. Her presence will be missed but we know she lived a full and happy life serviing the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
