Henri's broad interests & background never ceased to amaze me -- from our mutual Navy experiences to cruises, to house ownership trials. He was a delight to have known -- one of those special folks who view the glass as half-full, rather than half-empty.

To Henri's family: My condolences on your loss. I only met Henri once...at a show..we started talking a bit about fuchsias, then discovered that we both had a love of growing fruit. It was a memorable meeting.

Dear Renae and Family,
We were shocked and deeply saddened when we arrived at the Auburn Y yesterday and saw the announcement regarding Henri's death. My husband and I visited with Henri often in between exercises at the Y. Whether talking about politics, our medical/ insurance issues or plants and gardenting, Henri was always such a joy to talk to.
He will be sorely missed by all his friends at the Y.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

Dear Renae: I am so sorry to hear of Henri's passing. He was such a nice, caring person. I wanted to thank you both for your recent donations to our charity yard sale. Henri's minature roses brought in more than $20. Some of them will be here in our cul de sac so I will be reminded of his generousity and his special way with flowers every time I see them bloom.
