Irving Tobin Obituary

Irving TOBIN, M.D. November 27, 1924 - August 20, 2004 Irving Tobin passed away on August 20th peacefully and of natural causes. He was 79 years old and had celebrated his 53rd wedding anniversary with his wife, Annette, the day before he died. Irv loved everything about Annette; she was his true love. Irv was a man of integrity - honest and strong. He was a man of his own personal and private convictions. His greatest joy was being with Annette, family and friends. An avid tennis player, reader and Husky fan, Irv also dedicated himself to being a life long learner, continuing to study and offer expert medical advice for the Seattle Central Panel up until the time he died. Irv was born in Seattle, Washington to Sam and Edith Tobin. He was the older brother of Gordon and Larry Tobin. His grade school years were spent at Longfellow, and he was a graduate of Broadway High School and Seattle University. He served in the navy as a medic during World War II. Irv married Annette in 1951. He was a graduate of the University of Oregon Medical School and completed his training in Orthopedics at the University of Washington. He later served on the faculty of the UW. Irv began his practice in Orthopedic Surgery in 1960. He was in private practice for 34 years and then served for 10 years as a medical consultant. Irv is survived by his wife, Annette, son, Richard Scott Tobin/Jennifer, daughters, Nancy Tobin Cox/John and Leslie Tobin. He had four grandchildren - Andrew and Lisa Tobin and Matthew and Chad Cox. We all love him very much and our memories of him will live in our hearts forever. Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA, 22038-1131. In 1966, when I was nine, I broke my leg. My pediatrician (David Harris) told my mom that he could set it , but that he reccommened that I go to Dr Tobin. (It had broke in three places. ) He set my leg and I've never had any problems with it. Thank you
