Ivan J. "Bud" Siemens Jr.

Ivan Siemens Obituary

Ivan J. "Bud" SIEMENS, Jr. Born May 18th, 1919 in Hastings, Minn. to Ivan and Hazel Siemens. Died July 13th, 2006. Bud grew up in Suquamish and graduated from Poulsbo High School in 1934, at age 15, and later attended the University of Washington, majoring in Fisheries. He met his future wife, Elaine Durham, on Bainbridge Island and they were married December 20th, 1941 shortly before Bud was sent overseas, where he served in an aviation engineering battalion during the War in the Pacific. After the war Bud worked for the Veterans Administration in Vancouver, Spokane, Walla Walla, the Philippines and Seattle. His last position was Administrative Officer for Research and Education at the VA Hospital in Seattle. He retired in 1971 and enjoyed golf, bowling and gardening for many years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine, his sister, Mary Erickson, and five children: Carol Paschal, Jeanne White, Greg Siemens, Dave Siemens, and Barbara Clark, M.D. He also had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. An Open House in Bud's Memory will be held at the home of Greg Siemens and Marianne Willumsen on August 13th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. For information phone (360) 866-3937 or e-mail [email protected].
