James LAILEY Obituary

James LAILEY

Jim died at home surrounded by his family on June 19, 2012 after a long battle with CHF.

He was born on February 9, 1948 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to the Seattle area in 1959. He graduated from Shorecrest High School and the University of Washington.

He spent his adult life working in the Lawn & Garden Industry which he loved. He worked for Ernst Malmo in the 1970s before becoming VP of Sales & Marketing for Weyerhaeuser Garden Supply. He began his own Sales & Marketing business in 1991.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elleen, and his brother, Ken. He is survived by Kathie, his loving wife of 39 years, and their children, Patrick (Sharon), Kim (Robert Mitchell), Meighan (Brandon Lamb), and Katie. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Lauren, Cameron, Grayson, Andrew, and Olivia, and his nephew, Jeff (Laurene) and his family.

We will miss Jim's kind and gentle nature and especially his incredible sense of humor.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Joseph Doucette and his cardiac team for giving us nine more years than we expected.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jim's favorite charity, Wounded Warrior Project.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 30th, at St Jude Catholic Church in Redmond, Washington.

Jim you will be missed. I have never met anyone that was so connected and cared for so many in the horticulture field.
