I grew up listening to stories. and the laughter of my parents and the Scotts. Jim looked like a movie star to me as a kid with his beret and pipe. i have really great, loving memories with the Scott family. My mother, Pat Shepard consideted their annual trips to celebrate her birthday the absolute highlight of the year. All my love to all of you great Scotts. xo liz Shepard

I was sorry to hear that Jim has passed away. He is still well remembered by the old timers around Arlee and the Jocko Valley for his colorful early days with the Scott & Lane Wild West Shows.

Jim was my very first drawing instructor, and one of my favorites! He was always approachable, and I always enjoyed his company when I was with the NW Painters Group. He taught me to always have a sketchbook handy and I do. Now when I sketch in it every day he will be remembered.

Laurie, I know how much you loved your Dad, and from personal experience, I know how tough it is going to be for you and your mom. I'll be thinking of both of you. Call anytime.

Jim Scott was my favourite instructor at Burnley, 1976. He was and still is an influence in my life and my illustration work.
To quote John Hanson, Burnley and AIS instructor, " Jim Scott was probably the most dignified and mellow person I've ever met -- besides being a strong and steady presence. Are there anymore real cowboys left in this world?"
Mrs Scott, I am saddened that I can not attend Jim's memorial service, May 29th. I will be in Texas on that date. I will be there in memory and spirit.
