70 years have now passed since we became best friends in the Broadview neighborhood of Seattle. My memories of school, cub scouts, football, baseball, basketball and swimming are still fresh in my mind. I will forever cherish our friendship.

I miss my "honorary" brother. We had deep conversations on our occasional walks home from Junior High in Seattle and hoop shoots in his back yard only a block from my home. I'll always remember my best friend.

They say our loved ones are still alive as long as they are in our thoughts. In that regard, memories of my best friend Jim will continue to bring me a smile. My best to Jim's sons. I'm sure they made their Dad very proud!

I continue to think of Jim often so in that regard, he's still with us! We went through so much together all the way from cub scouts, shooting hoops in his back yard, playing one-on-one tackle football in my front yard, through high school (Jim at Ingraham and me at Lakeside), college (Jim at the UofW and me at Cornell), then back together often to share our post Viet Nam war experiences and later sharing new of our marriages and children. Jim was a brother to me and will always remain so. My absolute #1 best friend. Farewell and following seas! Jon Vaughters, CDR, USN (retired).

My sincere condolences to the family and friends. May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow and pain. (Psalms 119:76)

I met Jim in 1973 and had many enjoyable conversations with him regarding the Washington Husky Football Program.Accounting and Federal Income Tax have their interesting areas but when it came to UW Football, Jim had almost all the Facts for the Years he had followed them.Lux Sit.

Farewell to my best friend during our childhood days in Seattle in the 50's and 60's. We learned to swim together, attended lots of Husky football and baseball games together, and could always be found tossing around the baseball and football in my front yard. We supported each other emotionally after our tours in Viet Nam in the early 70's. All my best to Carrie and the boys. Jon Vaughters, CDR USN (retired). Surprise, AZ
