James Venables Obituary

James Hamel VENABLES 48, was born February 22, 1955 and passed away peacefully, Friday, August 29th, surrounded by family and friends. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Jim grew up in Seattle, attended Overlake School and spent much of his adult life in the marine industry taking him all over the world. Gourmet cook, avid fly fisherman, beloved son, brother, uncle, partner and friend, Jim loved his family, the outdoors and a simple life. He touched the hearts of all who knew him and made friends where ever he went. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Odland Venables, and is survived by devoted partner Joey Clements, father Don Venables, brother and sister-in-law, Bill Venables and Heidi Burmeister, sister, Katie Venables-Waldrop, niece and nephew Frannie and James Waldrop. The family would like to extend an invitation to all those who knew and loved Jim to a Memorial Service at Epiphany Parish in Seattle on Friday, September 5th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Street Outreach Services, Seattle, 2028 - Westlake Ave., Seattle, WA 98121.

While not having seen Jim in recent years, he was a great classmate. As we remember those with whom we have special bonds, Overlake Class of 1973 will miss Jim. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.
