Carole,
I can't say I knew Jerry as well as many others but he made a strong impression on me nonetheless. We shared a love for growing things and our conversations were always lively and fulfilling. More than anything Jerry symbolized the type of person I hope to become more like. He had a calm and simultaneously enthusiastic style. He had a presence that made people feel comfortable and cared for. I wish that we had a chance to chat more, maybe become better friends. I regret not having come to a tree fruit society meeting at his invitation. I hope to see you at the store Carole. My deepest condolences.

Carole,
We will miss Jerry and always remember him fondly in so many ways: his amazing gardening skills, sense of humor, generosity, and more. The community garden won't be the same without him, that's for sure.
With much love from the Magnuson Children's Garden Committee: Emily, Tina, Eric, Loie, Carol, Joy, Debi, Sarah W. and Sarah H., Tanya, and Kelly

I will miss Jerry. We met many years ago as Boeing employees. We would start and end the work day car pooling or van pooling, and spend the work day working together on a wide variety of electronics and avionics projects. Besides sharing career interests, we would spend long hours discussing economics, politics, transportation systems, the environment, gardening, and the great outdoors. We had a long treasured tradition of holiday gatherings carrying on without Jerry is going to be a big adjustment - an exercise of fond memories from the past.

Dear Carole, Your gentle husband has left a legacy of the quiet, unsung hero. His deep appreciation of the natural world was so evident in the manner in which he addressed his life. A good and kind man who left the world a better place for him having been here. Our hearts go out to you as you prepare your garden without his physical presence this year. Much love.

Carole, I was so sorry to see this. I met Jerry at Boeing, I worked for him for a number of years. What a wonderful person and a great manager for the company. He helped me a lot in my career. Things I loved and will miss about Jerry: He had a keen interest, curiosity and knowledge in a wide variety of subjects so we always found many things in common (Norwegian heritage, plants, work, running, the Dakotas) After he retired I would meet Jerry for lunch once in a while and I always enjoyed his visits. I will miss him.

I will always remember how steadfast Uncle Jerry was with planning our annual family summer picnics at Mt Rainier, and he and Aunt Carole would always be the first ones there.
Another fond memory - Uncle Jerry had other nieces and me over one year to teach us how to make lefse for Thanksgiving.
We will miss you so much, Uncle Jerry.

Jerry was a dear and lifelong friend. If I had a particular question or needed an expert perspective, it was often Jerry I thought of. Whenever we would gather together, Jerry's intelligence and positive approach to life were fully present. There aren't enough words to express how deeply he will be missed.
