John CZARNIECKI, Jr. John Czarniecki, Jr. died very peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Sunrise Senior Living in Bellevue with the help of Providence Hospice of Seattle. He was 98 years old. John was born in Seattle to Polish immigrant parents. He attended Franklin High School and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1937. He was captain of his University of Washington golf team in his junior and senior years. After graduation, he immediately went to work for the Kenworth Motor Truck Company in Seattle where he began a career that lasted 39 years. He held several senior management positions at the company until his retirement in 1976. The focal points in his life were his family, the church and his very satisfying career at Kenworth where he guided the service parts organization to growth and success over many years. John enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening and world wide travel. He was married to his wife, Millie, for 68 years until her death in 2003. He is survived by his son, John and several cousins. He will be remembered for his loyalty, integrity, honesty and service to others. A viewing of the casket will take place at the Columbia Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM located at 4567 Rainier Ave South in Seattle. A rosary will follow immediately in the chapel followed by burial at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery located at 205 NE 205th Street in Shoreline.
