Jon Luke Obituary
Jon P. Luke, age 50, of North Bend, accidently from complications of a boat accident, doing what he loved most, fly fishing. Jon was co-owner and talented creative director of Northwest Fly Fishing, Eastern Fly Fishing, Southwest Fly Fishing, and American Fly Fishing. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, adventurer, photographer, Grateful Dead fan and friend to many. Most of all, he was a great husband and a proud father of two sons. Jon was truly living the dream, with a big heart and a big personality.
As creative director, Jon created the magazine's distinctive look that features exquisite photography, detailed maps, and enthusiastic writing. Jon was a skilled and avid photographer, whose work was featured in the magazine and elsewhere, and his underwater photography was recognized as being among the best.
Jon and Kim were active with their boys outdoors as well as sports, with lacrosse taking center stage.
Jon is survived by wife Kim and sons Ben and Caleb, North Bend; father Duane, Wayzata, Minn.; sisters Kim (David) Hakensen, Minnetonka, Minn., and Cindy (Paul) Dieter, Seattle; niece Amalie Dieter, Ashland, Ore.; uncle Jim Burnett, Minneapolis; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by his mother, Nancy.
A celebration of Jon's life will be
held Saturday, April 21, at 1:00 pm
at Cascade Covenant Church,
13225 - 436th Ave S.E., North Bend

Jon was a soulful and engaging person always willing to give his opinion, my favourite quality in him. We will miss his emotional nature and direct, passionate personality, but take heart that he leaves such a strong and solid legacy behind in his beautiful, capable boys. Keep walking, Kim.
