June Laase Obituary

June Lillian Laase

June Lillian Laase passed away peacefully in Kenmore, Washington on February 5, 2018. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on February 25, 1933. In 1946, her parents, Jack and Grace Burleigh, moved the family to Washington State. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1951. She then joined the United States Air Force where she served for 4 years with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Thereafter, she worked as a bookkeeper for several different companies in the Seattle area. She is survived by her sister, Rev. Mary-Alyce Burleigh of Kirkland and her brother Douglas Burleigh of Pasco. She was pre-deceased by her husband of forty years, Ed Laase, and her brother Bob Burleigh.

June was a loving, giving person who was always ready to pitch in whenever anyone needed her. June and Ed were the consummate volunteers. They were loyal followers of Seattle Thunderbirds hockey, serving as billets for several of the young players. They were also supporters of the Seattle hydroplane races and could always be found in the pit area doing whatever was needed. June also volunteered at the Milk Carton Derby on Green Lake. She was a past Commodore of the Seafair Boat Club.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington at a date to be determined.
