"Mr. Forest" taught me social studies at Decatur in 1997 and lead our trip to Taegu, South Korea to establish a sister school. (He took the only successful picture of an evasive North Korean guard at the DMZ - by coincidence, with me in it- a unique memento to this day.) He was incredibly disciplined, expected our full attention - easy with his personal slides from around the world coupled with his encyclopedic knowledge of...the world! He asked about my older sisters who enjoyed his class years earlier. Only fond memories of his class. Requiescat in peace, and sneak me into a few secret cool sites during travels!

My thoughts of Keith go back approximately 40 years. Keith was very generous, loved people and a kind person. We managed apartments in the same area of Seattle for several years. He took Christmas pictures of my girls, Darci and Jill, for my Christmas cards. When my daughter became a History, Social Studies teacher, Keith was interested in her choice of subjects and we of course, loved all the stories Keith would tell about his travels. Keith had great integrity and I am sure that he passed this along to his sons. Keith and his stories will be missed. My love to Marianne and family. Darci and Jill send love and prayers also.

Keith was kind, generous, and a wonderful person. I doubt anyone loved soccer more than Keith! My heart goes out to Marianne and the family.

Keith and I taught together on Vashon Island. I vividly remember his dedication to his students, his passion for travel, his love of his family, and his wonderful sense of humor.

Mr. Forest was my first coach in Soccer almost 35 years ago. He was a kind man and a great and knowledgable coach.

I last had the pleasure of visiting with Keith and Marianne almost 10 years ago on the Cote D'Azur in France. We had both indulged our love of travel to attend a mutual friend's wedding. It was quite a pleasant suprise. We got caught up on the previous 20 years over pink champagne. It was a great evening and one I'll never forget.

John, Jeff, Joe and Marianne prayers and best wishes from family to yours.

RIP Coach.

Kathy and I are saddened by Keith's death. We have known Keith and Marianne since Jeff and Kevin started kindergarten in 1977. "Where in the World is Keith Forest" was a constant refrain long before the Today show. Keith was a gifted teacher who constantly challenged his students to experience other cultures to the max. We will miss his stories and his company.
