Larry Bell Obituary

Larry G. Bell

Larry Bell was born to Robert and Eleanor Bell in Puyallup, WA on February 2, 1955 and passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015. He is survived by brother Wilbur and Donna Bell, brother Wayne and Maureen Bell, sister Marlene and Carl Pebbler, 12 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews and numerous friends around the globe. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia Seldal, brother in law Gary Seldal and canine companion Sophie. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family, but especially by Asa and Coco, his beloved girls.

Larry graduated from Puyallup High School in 1973. He continued his education at PLU and CWU, earning a Master's degree in Education. He performed in numerous musicals and choirs, including the Choir of the West at PLU. He also showed dogs with 4H, judged local AKC shows and won numerous awards for his community service.

Larry had a passion for education and ensuring that every child felt valued. He spent most of his career serving as principal of Stevens Elementary School in Seattle, building it into one of the top schools in the district. After retiring from Seattle Public Schools, Larry contributed to the education field by mentoring principal interns and student teachers while teaching at Seattle University and City University. He continued his love of music and sports by attending many musicals and holding season tickets for the Seattle Storm. Plans for a memorial service are in progress. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lambert House www.lamberthouse.org or to Old Dog Haven www.olddoghaven.org. The family would like to thank his friends, Evergreen Hospice, Salam, Bonnie and the rest of his caregivers for the love they gave Larry.

Oh Larry, We are so joyful that youve gone to a better place, but just miss you so much. I find myself often reaching for my phone to send you that "daily text". We feel blessed we were able to spend so much time with you on your final days, and I for getting that one long full body hug just a couple days before you left us. We will forever remember your big booming laughter and how you made me crack up without tryin! The New Years eve dinners, our alone time talks, our visits, our parties and...did I say your BOOMING laughter. You drove us nuts sometimes....but that will be missed too! Your loving arms and loving ways are going to be missed the most! Zipper will miss the visits with his cousins, and we will miss seeing them. You are forever in our hearts and memories. All our love, and deepest condolences to the family. Linda and Deb
