Laurie Roupe Obituary

Laurie Jo Roupe

Laurie Jo Roupe, 65, of Mukilteo, Washington passed away unexpectedly on October 11,

2015 due to complications from breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing.

Born in Sunnyside, Washington to Eleanor and Guy Smith. Laurie married her husband, Orville Roupe in 1982 and spent 33 loving years together. They have two children, Jason and Nicole.

Laurie worked as a receptionist at the law office of Calfo Harrigan Leyh & Eakes (formally known as Danielson Harrigan & Tollfeson). Her co-workers were a second family to Laurie, and she enjoyed going to work every day to see them.

Laurie was an avid skier for many years, being a member of The Everett Ski Club at Stevens Pass. She and Orville were members of the Washington Athletic Club or 39 years.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends up at the family summer home at Tulare Beach. The Tulare Beach community was a very special place for Laurie. Filled with summers of swimming, planning beach picnics, 4th of July spectaculars and yes, many walks on the beach!

Laurie is survived by her husband, Orville Roupe; daughter, Nicole; son-in-law, Ryan; son, Jason; mother, Eleanor and step-father, Virgil Larson; her two brothers, Morrie and Dale Smith, her "Pride and Joy"granddaughter, Brooke; and so many other loving family and friends.

I knew Laurie when we were both residents at Cambridge Apartments in Lynnwood in the 1970's. She was so full of life and so much fun to be around and generous to a fault. Her passing is like a light being extinguished. I will always cherish the memory of our friendship.

We know her as Auntie LoJo, she holds a special place in my heart. I could always talk to her about anything, she always had a smile, giggle and light that shined bright. We will miss her terribly, love to Nikki, Jason, Uncle Orv, Grama Ellie and all those who love her.
